A wine bar for the genuinely curious. No dress code. No pretension. Just exceptional wine by the glass, by the bottle, and by the conversation.
The Space
Walk through the door and the first thing you notice isn't the wine, it's the feeling. Moody blues and burnished gold. Vintage Cappiello posters watching from the walls. A soundtrack that somehow always fits. This is a place built for lingering.
The Drinksmith sits in the heart of Sherborne, Dorset, part wine bar, part shop, part laboratory for the palate-curious. Every wine on the list has been tasted blind, debated at length, and selected because it does something interesting. Some are from legendary estates. Some are from producers you've never heard of. All of them are extraordinary.
By the Glass
Our by-the-glass list changes weekly and always spans the full spectrum, from Bone Dry to Lush & Sweet. We use Coravin preservation on our finer bottles, meaning you can drink Grand Cru Burgundy by the glass without the Grand Cru commitment.
The Bottle Wall
Everything you see, you can buy. Take it home at shop prices or drink it here with a modest corkage. Found something you love? We'll remember it, add it to your palate profile, and make sure it finds its way into your next subscription box.
Food
We keep it simple and seasonal. Think charcuterie, English cheeses that actually deserve the wine beside them, and the occasional collaboration with one of Sherborne's brilliant independent kitchens.
