Douglas Laing Scallywag
Douglas Laing's Scallywag is a marriage of aged Speyside single malts, predominantly matured in Spanish Sherry casks. A small-batch, non-chill-filtered expression, it delivers an explosion of dark fruits, rich chocolate and warming spice—a benchmark for blended malt excellence.
Nose: Rich dark fruits, dried plum and blackcurrant. Warm vanilla, cinnamon spice and hints of toffee. Underlying sherry oak influence with subtle chocolate. Palate: Opens sweetly with dry sherry leading above malty vanilla and orange zest. Transitions into spiced notes with black pepper, charred oak and hints of freshly cut grass. Full-bodied, complex. Finish: Suitably dry finish with lingering spice, vanilla oak and soft tannins. Notes of cocoa and dried figs emerge.
